Regional Peer Support Program
GCBH BH-ASO has a new Peer Position, the Regional Peer Support Program Manager, that has been filled by Cindy Adams. Cindy has most recently been the GCBH BH-ASO Regional Behavioral Health Ombuds, and prior to that provided Complaint Resolutions and assistance with Grievances and Appeals. She has over twenty-five years of providing Advocacy support for our region.
As the Regional Peer Support Program Manager, Cindy will assist individuals and families with advocacy and resources. She will be generating a list of Certified Peer Counselors (CPCs) in the region who are currently looking for employment and also a list of Behavioral Health Agencies who are looking to hire CPCs. Cindy will provide Trainings, Community Outreach, and Presentations on areas of interest to peers, providers, and families – including Recovery concepts, self-advocacy, and Behavioral Health Wellness. She will also be attending local, regional and State meetings, and committees to stay aware of issues, programs, and legislation affecting individuals and families with lived experience. This information will be shared with the community and GCBH BH-ASO staff to ensure that our Organization remains recovery focused.
